Your Privacy Foundation
Elder Companion is built on the principle that your personal information belongs to you. We collect only what is necessary to provide our service, and we never sell your data.
What We Collect
We collect information you provide directly — your name, contact details, and the preferences and memories you choose to share with Indy. We also collect usage data (which features you use and when) to improve our service.
How We Use Information
Your information is used solely to provide and improve Elder Companion. Conversations with Indy are processed to help you, then discarded. We never use your data to train AI models or sell to third parties.
Voice Data
Voice conversations with Indy are processed in real time and not retained beyond the current interaction. Audio is transcribed, used to generate a response, and then permanently discarded. We do not store voice recordings.
Data Classification
We classify all data by sensitivity level (P0–P6) to ensure appropriate protection. Public content (P0) has minimal restrictions, while system audit data (P6) is immutable and retained for 7 years. Your personal information falls under strict access controls proportional to its sensitivity.
Your Control
You can view, export, or delete your information at any time from Settings. Family members only see what you choose to share. You can change sharing preferences at any time.
Data Security
Your data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Sensitive information (like vault items) uses additional encryption layers. We follow industry best practices for data protection.
Third Parties
We never sell your data to third parties. We share information only with service providers necessary to operate Elder Companion (such as cloud hosting and payment processing), and only under strict data processing agreements.
